Haws Model 9400 AXION® Steam Water Heater uses existing plant steam to create a hot water supply to provide emergency showers and eyewashes with constant tepid water with flows up to 25 GPM per the ANSI Z358.1 Standard.
The AXION Steam Water Heater operates on a typical plant steam pressure. The plant steam and water never mix. The steam and water are separated by brazed plate heat exchanger. Steam temperature reaching a high of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, with steam pressure reaching a high 60 PSIG and a low pressure of 3 BAR. Water temperatures reach a high of 80 degrees Fahrenheit with a low of 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The water pressure reaches a high of 90 PSIG and a low of 4 BAR. The water and steam feature for the AXION Steam Water Heater work together to create a product that provides a safety solution for increased victim comfort.

Advanced Safety Features of the Haws® Tankless Water Heater

Tankless water heaters, also known as instantaneous water heaters, are designed to deliver a constant supply of hot water as needed without the use of a storage tank. When a water source is activated, cold water travels through a pipe, into the unit, and an electric element heats the water. Tempered water is a crucial component to victim comfort during emergency response. Not only does appropriately tempered water prevent hypothermia, enhanced victim comfort increases the user’s desire to stay in the shower for the full 15 minutes as prescribed by ANSI Z358.1.

Haws® and ThermOmegaTech® Join to Offer Ultimate Steam Water Heater SolutionWe have entered into an exclusive manufacturing and distribution agreement with ThermOmegaTech®, a design and manufacturing leader in self-actuating temperature control valves. With this new agreement, we now will serve as the primary
source for instant steam heated tepid water systems and is pleased to offer the updated AXION® Steam Water Heater. The new model 9400 will be available to ship in the fourth quarter 2014 and offers all the great features of the original product as well as innovative new features, including:
- ASSE 1071 certified mixing valve designed for safety shower and eyewash applications to deliver 80°F (27°C) water.
- Over-temperature bleeder valve on the outlet to ensure water temperatures are below the ANSI Z358.1 defined maximum temperature of 100°F (38°C).
- Steam bleed valve allowing the unit to be installed in temperatures down to -30°F (-34°C).
