Model 8785 water resistant, polyurea membrane-encased, steel-reinforced wooden booth tempering system that comes equipped with internal hot water system, blending system and space heater. Designed to be installed in freezing environments. System is designed to supply tempered water to emergency shower and/or eyewash.

Model 8785 Description

Model 8785 is an enclosed and heated tempering station with integral hot water supply. It includes a hot water storage tank with heater, mixing valve, and space heater. Booth is a water resistant, polyurea membrane-encased, fibreglass channel reinforced wooden structure. Protected with UV inhibitors, the exterior skin is bright yellow with Safety Green graphics. Large graphics identify the booth as a tempering station. The interior space is heated to protect the equipment from freezing. Door is hinged and bolted to the booth to prevent unwanted access.

Water Heater: 4 kW, 240 VAC copper immersion heater. Dual element thermostat with manual reset hi-limit protection.
Space Heater: Natural convection 2.5 kW
Plumbing: Schedule 40 galvanized piping with brass and stainless steel valves.
Supply: 1-1/4" IPS.

Tempering System Options:
Tank Systems
Option No. 21: 119 gallon (450 L) tank; Stores enough hot water to provide a single combination safety shower & eyewash 25 gpm (94.6 L) for 15 minutes. Recovery time up to 8 hours.
Option No. 22: 119 gallon (450 L) ASME tank; Stores enough hot water to provide a single combination safety shower & eyewash 25 gpm (94.6 L) for 15 minutes. Recovery time up to 4 hours.
Option No. 23: 325 gallon (1230 L) ASME tank; stores enough hot water to provide combination safety showers and eyewashes 50 gpm (189.3 L) for 15 minutes. Recovery time up to 16 hours.
Steam System
Option No. 24: Feed forward instantaneous heat exchanger. Requires 15 PSIG, max. 1300lb./hr. steam supply.

Electrical System Options
Standard system requires a 208-240 VAC, single phase/60 Hz, 2 wire and ground, 40 amp, electrical supply. Electrical systems can be provided to meet various environmental requirements. Select the electrical option that meets the environmental conditions where the Polar unit is to be installed.
Option 31: NEMA 4 water/dust tight.
Option 32: Class I, Division 2, Group B, C and D, T2D.
Option 33: Class l Division l, Group C & D, T2D.

Specify tempering booth models as follows: a model number, tempering system option, electrical system option. Example: Model 8785.22.32 is a Model 8785 Polar Tempering Booth equipped with 119 gallon (450 L) ASME tank, and a Class 1, Division 2, Group B, C, D, T2D electrical system.

Model 8785 heated enclosed tempering system shall include an all-weather foam insulated booth made of a membrane encapsulated wood structure with bright yellow elastomeric chemically resistant waterproof coating, protected with UV inhibitors. This single or multiple shower and/or eyewash feeder is designed to operate with a number of tempering and electrical options. The internal booth temperature is maintained by a natural convection 2.5 KW space heater. The tank water temperature is maintained by a 4KW immersion heater. The electrical system requires 208/240 VAC single phase, 3-wire, 40 Amp minimum, though it can be easily adapted for other voltages upon request. The 8785 tempering booth utilizes the Haws Tempered Water Blending System to provide tempered water under dire situations, and incorporates fail-safe features like anti-scald protection and full flow cold water bypass in the event of hot water failure.
