Model 8780 skid-mounted tempering system comes equipped with a water heater and mixing valve for installation in non-freezing environments. System is designed to supply tempered water to either showers or eyewashes.
Model 8780 is a skid-mounted tempering system which may supply a number of drench systems or eyewash stations. This unit is supplied with a skid that is a membrane encapsulated, fiberglass channel reinforced 4' x 5' (1.22 x 1.52 m) wooden structure with bright yellow elastomeric chemically resistant waterproof coating, and protected with UV inhibitors. This single or multiple shower and/or eyewash feeder is designed to operate with a number of tempering and electrical options. The tempered water blending system includes an integral hot water supply, whether stored or supplied by steam, and will incorporate fail-safe features like anti-scald protection and full flow cold water bypass.

Option No. 21: 119 gallon (450 L) tank; Stores enough hot water to provide a single combination safety shower & eyewash 25 gpm (94.6 L) for 15 minutes. Recovery time up to 8 hours.
Option No. 22: 119 gallon (450 L) ASME tank; Stores enough hot water to provide a single combination safety shower & eyewash 25 gpm (94.6 L) for 15 minutes. Recovery time up to 4 hours.
Option No. 23: 325 gallon (1230 L) ASME tank; stores enough hot water to provide combination safety showers and eyewashes 50 gpm (189.3 L) for 15 minutes. Recovery time up to 16 hours.
Steam System
Option No. 24: Feed forward instantaneous heat exchanger. Requires 15 PSIG, max. 1300lb./hr. steam supply.
Electrical System Options
Standard system requires a 208-240 VAC, single phase/60 Hz, 2 wire and ground, 40 amp, electrical supply. Electrical systems can be provided to meet various environmental requirements. Select the electrical option that meets the environmental conditions where the Polar unit is to be installed.
Option 31: NEMA 4 water/dust tight.
Option 32: Class I, Division 2, Group B, C and D, T2D.
Option 33: Class l Division l, Group C & D, T2D.
Specify tempering booth models as follows: a model number, tempering system option, electrical system option. Example: Model 8780.22.32 is a Model 8780 Tempering Booth equipped with 119 gallon (450 L) ASME tank, and a Class 1, Division 2, Group B, C, D, T2D electrical system.
