Beauty's only skin deep. And, that’s perfectly fine, if the “skin” is a state of the art process called Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). For many years, electro-plating and other finishing processes have been used to provide a uniform, lustrous finish on metal parts. In high-use applications, such as commercial drinking fountains, these finishes have been relied upon to give an appealing, clean appearance that invites use, while minimizing maintenance requirements. Traditional plating, however, has had several drawbacks, including a propensity to fade, tarnish, corrode and peel. Fading and tarnishing can be particularly problematic with today’s popular subtle hue colors, such as rose and gold. In those types of applications, colors often fade and become dull.
In contrast, Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is an environmentally friendly vacuum coating process that provides brilliant and durable decorative finishes on a variety of products, including commercial drinking fountains. A wide array of colors can be achieved combining the benefits of a decorative finish with excellent wear, fade and corrosion resistance.
The finishes of the final product may differ from the shown samples due to the type and configuration of the product being poured or due to variances in raw materials.
